ANSYS Mechanical Dynamics can be used to calculate the dynamic behavior of structures. In a dynamic analysis, the mass inertia and damping of the system play an important role. The stresses in the structure can deviate significantly under dynamic loading compared to static loading.

Some basic knowledge of dynamics and strength of materials is useful but not necessary. Furthermore, it is recommended that the student is familiar with the ANSYS Mechanical interface and has, for example, completed the course "Introduction to ANSYS Mechanical".

This two-day course teaches how to perform dynamic analyses in the ANSYS Mechanical interface. Various topics will be covered in a combination of presentations and workshops:

  • Damping and preload eigenfrequency calculation
  • Harmonic response analysis (Bode diagram)
  • Response spectrum analysis (earthquake, shock to electronic components)
  • Random vibrations (PSD)
  • Transient analyses (impact, shock)
